Let's start adding the replacement neck! So the original neck on this violin was both broken off and broken at the scroll. A new neck should be the best decision 👍. The problem will definitely be matching the varnish color of the original violin. Fixing somebody else's fix 😒 So when the original crack at this point was mended, the Luthier cleated the mend. Problem is that the cleat grain was in the same direction as the top grain, so the cleat was useless. Since I have the top off, I'm fixing the crack properly (it re-cracked in the same break like...). Part four of the 1/2 size Suzuki Violin restoration. In this part I complete the setup for the little 1/2 size violin for my daughter's Christmas gift 🎁 I made a new bridge for the violin and needed to check the nut to ensure playability. Everything went back on very well! I also added the fine tuners back onto the tail piece, I wish I had fine tuners when I was just starting out...so much easier.
